My entourage is ready. To my left:
Under my feet:
I really wanted the rest of the week off, but some dumbass didn’t think ahead and scheduled a draft report due on Friday.

Every day for me, almost 3 years. The hardest times are when the kids are still out of school, but I’m back at work. I get to enjoy the sounds of fighting from the next room, as well as the audible fraying of my wife’s nerves throughout the day.
Still better than being in an office. But without Oppo, I’d probably have no idea what was going on in the world. I think I’d lose it.

While I’ve never experienced this, I have a very vivid image in my head of this working from home life.

I’m hoping that sometime soonish there will be an opportunity for me to work from home some.

This is a great working group. My cat wanted to come to work with me until I told him there was no food and litter box here.

The real fun is listening to everyone else’s background sounds. About half of us on any given conference call are at home. Dogs barking, other people talking, kids screaming. I love that I have a supportive employer, but I already realize they’re just being cheap — they don’t want to provide us office space, nor do they have to hear me bitch about needing a new monitor all day long. I have to pick my battles.
I’m also convinced that people in an office are more likely to ask for (or expect) promotion, while fighting that battle remotely -- without looking your boss in the eye -- is much, much harder, even if you’re a good employee.

I used to bring my cat to the office. Just used a Sterilite tub for a litter box so I’d clip the top on for mobility.

I can’t do it when the family is home. There are too many distractions.

I do ok. When I’m at the office, there are many more “pop-up” needs that I have to address throughout the day. At home, I don’t get those calls.

Yeah, I’m finding it hard to care about it too.

Funny how that works.

I’ve gotten to where I can’t do it when there’s nobody else around. The solitude drives me nuts. It’s really a hard balance.

When my doggo was still with us, her favorite spot to sit when I was working at home on my laptop was between my legs... I think she thought it was a way to ask for extra scratches / necessary attention.

That would be great. I wish he were here sitting on my lap.

Despite my time on here, I find solitude comforting.

Oh I can’t get a damn thing done trying to work at home. Takes me all day to write a quote that should take maybe 2-3 hours.
